Statement
Through this work, I attempt to evoke a sense of wonder at these beautifully celestial environments that exist outside of our natural perception of time. In using the camera’s ability to capture time as an accumulation, as opposed to a continuum, we are able to view these constructions of moving light in their entirety as a photographic object. In this way, the camera becomes divorced from its conventional connotation as a tool of documentation. Instead, it functions as a kind of scientific instrument, allowing us to view and explore these environments of light and color that inherently elude our natural sight.
